The LGA is now able to match new and aspiring senior and executive local government managers with coaches. Access to a coach can empower individuals to work on key areas for improvement, increasing their skillset and resilience to tackle the challenges facing local government.
We have a blog which sets out how coaches can be a valuable tool for all managers regardless of experience, and provides top tips for getting the most out of the relationship.
The LGA has a range of coaches available to help clients, whatever their professional goals. Key coaching themes could include:
- career development
- return to work (e.g. post-parental leave, sick leave)
- leadership
- diversity
- confidence
- outplacement.
After being presented with a selection of biographies from qualified coaches, individuals can organise a chemistry call to choose their best fit. The chosen coach will deliver a package of six coaching sessions over a maximum period of six months. We anticipate that the sessions will take place virtually.
To find out more, please email [email protected]. A member of our team will be in touch with information about the coaches available, including their bios and pricing.
DMA is a re-organisational design tool which establishes two key fundamentals for an organisation:
- the number of management layers needed, including the units within it, for an organisation to be as effective as possible
- the decision rights in different layers that managers require to be empowered
- it is a proven way of creating an effective organisation and an efficient management structure.
The DMA approach has helped organisations save money, led to timely decision-making, clear responsibilities and empowerment of leadership roles. Employees are more productive, more agile, better at decision making, and more engaged.
