What is Section 117 aftercare?

It means that the NHS and your local council must work together to give you the help you need after you leave hospital, if you were detained under certain sections of the Mental Health Act.

The support is there to help you:

  • recover
  • stay well
  • avoid becoming unwell again
  • avoid going back into hospital.

Get urgent help if you are in crisis
