Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer plus (LGBTQ+) councillors are invited to join us at our annual two-day, cross-party weekender event on Saturday 31 January – Sunday, 1 February 2026 – an excellent opportunity to network and share experiences.
This year’s programme focuses on empowering LGBTQ+ elected members to become agents of social change and activism. Together, we will explore the unique opportunities and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ leaders as they advocate for equality and inclusion in their communities.
Event Objectives
By the end of the two-day event, you will have had an opportunity to:
- Examine the role of LGBTQ+ elected members in driving social change and activism within their communities.
- Share experiences with other LGBTQ+ leaders about their activism journeys and discuss strategies for addressing critical challenges.
- Develop a deeper understanding of the psychological and emotional impact of advocacy work and strategies to build resilience.
- Explore the unique challenges and opportunities for LGBTQ+ elected members in championing equality and inclusion.
- Reflect on how your leadership can catalyse transformative social change in your community.
- Identify practical steps to strengthen your activism and leave a lasting legacy.

Fee
The cost for attending one of these two-day residential events is £150 which includes accommodation, meals and all learning materials.
Attendees may wish to join us for dinner and stay overnight at the venue on Friday 30 January 2026 (the night before the event) for an additional £50.
