High Impact Change 1: Co-produce a shared vision, setting out how data and intelligence can support this

Co-design a shared vision with partners that outlines how data and intelligence can support this decision making across all partners. Leaders and staff will need to use data to support and measure the delivery of this shared vision.

Key actions

  • Agree a shared vision, goals, priorities and implementation plan across the system, including the individual and carer voice, and how data can contribute to this. Establish collaborative ways of working to support delivery of this vision, showing empathy and understanding of different organisational challenges, and focus on the improvements, outcomes and learnings. This should be underpinned by strong working relationships across senior health and care partners.
  • Develop a culture of using information and data to support improvement as set out in the shared vision, distinct from using data just to highlight performance challenges. Encourage a learning mindset where staff feel empowered to question, interpret and act on data insights.
  • Develop KPIs for understanding and monitoring delivery of the vision and ensure all staff can link their own deliverables back to the shared vision goals and priorities, and understand the role of data to support this.
