The Grey Book covers the national pay and conditions for operational and control staff of fire and rescue services.
The 7th edition of the grey book was published in April 2025 and is a 'technical update' to the 6th edition of the grey book which:
- incorporates all relevant joint circulars issued since 2004
- modernises the language used
- updates/removes any inaccuracies.
It can be downloaded by LGA workforce subscribers, local authorities and fire employers. Individual staff in fire and rescue services and subscriber organisations will need to register with the website in order to gain access.
