Recruitment maturity model

As part of our recruitment related resources and offers, the LGA has developed a recruitment maturity model as a standard framework to support councils review, reflect and identify opportunities for development.

What is the recruitment maturity model?

The recruitment maturity model includes key areas for councils to review their existing recruitment practices against. These areas of focus include:

  • promotion
  • policies
  • platforms
  • people
  • processes
  • performance.

The self-assessment tool allows councils to review their current practices from stage one (early focused) to stage five (advanced excellence driven) and create key actions to enable continuous improvement.

The Recruitment Reset Programme

The Recruitment maturity model is part of our wider Recruitment Reset programme, which is a ten-week development programme designed to empower councils with the tools, insights, and strategies needed to modernise their recruitment practices.

Sharing best practice

The LGA are keen to celebrate and share best practice from the sector. If you are using the recruitment maturity model or have other examples of innovative practice related to recruitment, we welcome hearing from you.
