United Pride Friends is a group service for members of the LGBTQ+ community with Autism and Learning difficulties. The primary purpose of their group is giving members a safe place to meet new people and make friends. Funded through Oxfordshire County Council via direct payments, this bespoke, family-run provision is for a young man who was neglected, restrained, over medicated, and abused as an inpatient in various assessment and treatment units (ATUs). Council tax support was given to a young person placed out of authority in need of financial assistance. This had a positive impact and has since been rolled our further.
