Academies

All the workforce information you need in one place for academies.

Anne Hudson, HR Director, Westminster Grey Coat Foundation:

Employer Link provide Woodard Academies Trust with timely employee relations information and advice. I found that they are particularly helpful to Academy members in providing information regarding national pay and conditions and progress relating to national negotiations.

Laura Taylor, HR Director, The 3-18 Education Trust

As the HR Director for a growing multi-academy trust, I have found Employer Link to be an invaluable resource. They provide timely updates on employment law and national pay and conditions, which are crucial for our operations. However, the most outstanding benefit is being part of the exceptional national Heads of HR network group. This group offers a platform to discuss, share, and debate all aspects of HR within the education sector, significantly benefitting both my HR operations and strategic HR planning within my trust.

Your subscription will include:

  • access to job evaluation resources and training
  • advice and support on pay solutions
  • salary comparison information to help to inform pay decisions
  • early notice of key developments in the Teachers' Pension Scheme and the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • the ability to track negotiations on national pay awards, pay scales and terms and conditions
  • employment legislation policy updates
  • vast online resources and excellent advice from the industrial relations specialists
  • discounted rates to our events and consultancy service.

The Heads of HR network, supported by Employer Link, is a complimentary network designed for strategic leads of HR in Academy Trusts (ATs), encompassing over a third of all academies in England. This group of around 300 ATs meets virtually every month to connect with peers across the sector, discuss research and policy developments, and share ideas and best practices. You can read the terms of reference for the network.

Annually, the group gathers in person to strengthen and develop relationships within the sector. In June, the network convenes in London to hear from expert speakers as well as build relationships for mutual benefit - both at an AT operational level as well as feeding into the national strategic workforce policy agenda for education.

Network conveners at the Local Government Association frequently conduct and distribute sector-specific research, often available for free to participating network members. Examples have included an extensive pay benchmarking exercise, to establish benchmarks for 180 roles for central teams of ATs, as well as compiling and analysing absence and staff turnover data.

If you are interested in having the strategic lead for HR of your multi-academy trust join the network, please apply.

  • If you are the strategic lead for HR of your multi-academy trust joining the network, please complete the application to join the network.
  • If you have questions about the network, please get in touch at [email protected].

The Network is supported by Employer Link, in order to provide added value to its subscribers. Employer Link is a paid service which provides access to the national pay and conditions that apply in schools (Green Book, Burgundy Book, and the Soulbury Agreement) and an insight into annual negotiations that the LGA conducts or is the statutory Employer voice for. The subscription rate for Academy Trusts is set out in the booking form. We hope you consider joining Employer Link to help the network develop.
