The Employer Standards for Social Workers in England set out whole system approaches to help develop a working environment where social work practice and social workers can flourish.
The employer standards survey, sometimes known as the ‘health check’, gives a voice to registered social workers, occupational therapists, and non-registered social care professionals and allows them to feel listened to and that their employer is proactive in tackling challenges. The purpose of the survey was to better understand a number of critical questions about their experiences.
The survey was sent to police forces in England and Wales in order to inform on-going national negotiations by providing accurate and up to date information about the composition of the workforce and provide a means for costing claims, offers and their consequences.

The School Attendance Support Survey was sent to all education authorities in England in order that the Local Government Association (LGA) could get a clear picture of the extent to which councils were incurring extra costs where they were already adhering to the Department for Education’s non-statutory guidance, and use these findings in on-going lobbying work with DfE.
This survey was conducted by the Local Government Association on behalf of the National Joint Council for Local Authorities’ Fire and Rescue Services in order to provide up-to-date information about the workforce.
