Support local government improvement, share your expertise and grow professionally by becoming an LGA peer. Open to experienced officers and councillors.
What is a peer?
Make a difference. Develop your skills. Be part of something bigger.
Reflecting on being a part of the Peer Team for the recent West Midlands Combined Authority, Corporate Peer Challenge, the director of legal services at the West of England Combined Authority, Bob Brown, wrote:
It was such a great learning experience, and I’ll be taking plenty back to my MSA from the insight and experience I gained from working with such a good team.
Peers are experienced councillors and officers who play a vital role in the LGA's sector-led improvement work. They support and contribute to the improvement of local government as a whole by:
- sharing good practice and fresh perspectives
- offering challenge and support
- providing assurance to local authorities and the wider local government family
- helping local authorities and combined authorities deliver better outcomes for their communities.
By becoming a peer, you'll use your skills to help others - and bring fresh ideas and learning back to your own organisation.
You will share your insight, skills and experience to support local authorities and combined authorities across England to improve performance, respond to challenges and deliver better outcomes for local communities.
Whether you're a senior leader or emerging talent, we'd love to hear from you.
