Programme overview

The Recruitment Reset is designed to help evaluate and enhance approaches to recruitment and to align with candidate needs, expectations, and best practices.

The programme gives participants the opportunity to focus on resetting their organisation’s strategy and priorities, while reshaping the recruitment experience through modern practice. By focusing on efficiency, effectiveness and fairness, the programme aims to create recruitment practices that are inclusive and sustainable, leading to a stronger and more resilient workforce.

In response to the workforce survey the programme is designed to guide participants through five essential steps to reset their recruitment practice and uses the LGA Recruitment Maturity Model as a standard against which to evaluate current practice.

Each cohort is limited to 12 places and includes group and individual coaching and the opportunity to meet and learn from other participants. In addition, a full set of quality materials and resources are provided, which includes one online session per week. The online sessions are thoughtfully designed to accommodate diverse needs, interests and learning styles. The schedule ensures that participants have ample time to complete each step while maintaining momentum throughout the course. The sessions include a blend of the following formats:

  • Masterclass: These focus on the five key steps, providing the knowledge and skills needed to successfully implement them.
  • Mastermind: These sessions delve into the mindset needed to overcome obstacles and explore what often hinders progress.
  • Working Together: These collaborative sessions address emerging challenges, identify opportunities for change, and offer mutual support within the group.
  • Bonus Sessions: In each cohort, there are opportunities to respond the specific needs of the group and add content in that relevant and helpful.

Sessions are facilitated by skilled and knowledgeable programme leads and crafted to help participants not only learn but also apply practical solutions to the unique challenges they face in their role. Participants are encouraged to ask for support from the programme leads as little or as often as they need.

Who is the programme for?

The Recruitment Reset is designed specifically for leaders who have responsibility for attraction and recruitment, who are looking to review their practices at both a strategic and operational level.

Time commitment

Online sessions are held every Tuesday from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The programme begins with Weeks 1 to 5, which focus on current practice and run concurrently. After these, there are two integration weeks between Weeks 5 and 6, providing time for reflection and consolidation. Following the integration period, Weeks 6 to 10 take place, also running concurrently.

To take part in the programme, participants will need to plan 5 - 6 hours per week to attend online sessions and complete the work required in between sessions.

We kindly remind all applicants to check their availability to ensure they can commit to attending every online session. This will ensure that everyone who takes part gets the most out of the programme.

Costs

The cost to each member council (per participant) to be part of the Recruitment Reset Programme is £2,500.00 excluding VAT.

Upon completion of the programme, you will be invited to join our ‘recruitment reset programme alumni group’. This will be an opportunity to engage and share best practice with fellow alumni colleagues.

Working together with likeminded professionals, each facing similar challenges, within local government has created a unity and strong network which is invaluable.  Being able to share ideas and creativity and to know that everyone truly understands and wants to help you realise the ambitions for your organisation is great."
