Establish a whole-family, youth-informed, and inclusive approach by coordinating governance, co-designing with young people and families, commissioning accessible services, supporting staff, aligning with national programmes, sharing information responsibly, and targeting inequalities.

Blackpool Council has developed a unique campus model for delivering integrated services to children, young people, and families. This model is built around three Family Hubs located in the north, central, and south areas of Blackpool.

Bristol City Council is keen for there to be ‘no wrong front door’ for families seeking to access support and provision. To increase accessibility to Family Hubs and the breadth of support available, their Family Hub Programme has sought to partner with the local VCFSE sector, who are already supporting families in the city through sustainable, trusted relationships and grassroots projects.

Blackburn with Darwen (BwD) has thoughtfully harnessed national investment and local infrastructure to craft a dynamic, community-centered model. The borough retained eight children’s centres - four of which have been transformed into vibrant family hubs, while the remaining four operate as linked satellite children’s settings. Each site serves a unique neighbourhood, guaranteeing comprehensive coverage across the borough.

Hillingdon Council explored the development of family hubs to bring together a support network for children, young people and families. Hillingdon self-funded its family hubs as the location was not a government funded family hub area, yet the council recognised the value of service delivery in this way. By focusing on collaboration across sectors and a flexible, community-driven approach we were able to develop a model that meets diverse needs and maximises existing community resources.
